Jiya Birdi
Jiya’s love for dance began when she was just three years old. Over the years, she has trained in numerous forms of dance including ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap, jazz, ballroom and lyrical. She began competing at age 7, earning numerous honors and awards. She has also developed a love for Indian dance and has enjoyed teaching young girls in preparation for cultural shows.
Jiya has always been inspired by young children—their creativity, eagerness to learn and playful energy. On her first trip to India, she saw firsthand how children in underserved communities lack access to certain resources that make optimal learning possible. Motivated by her desire to serve others, Jiya launched Dance4Dreams in 2025, uniting her love for dance with her commitment to helping children.
Through Dance4Dreams, Jiya teaches Bollywood dance classes to children in Phoenix and every dollar raised from parent donations goes to improving schools in underserved communities across India and local schools in Arizona. The funds are used for essential school supplies as well as equipment to create a better classroom environment.
Jiya hopes to inspire children to develop a love of Indian dance while also helping others in need of a chance for a brighter future. By combining creativity and compassion, Dance4Dreams aims to create change, one dance class at a time.
